5 Steps To Immediately Start Selling On Etsy
Over 28 million people now shop on Etsy and thanks to the site’s buyer-friendly structure, there’s no better time than right now to start selling on the platform.
If you’ve been thinking about starting an Etsy store but haven’t gotten around to it yet, consider these five steps to immediately start selling on Etsy and get ahead of the pack.
1) Create A Shop
The first step in selling on Etsy is creating a Shop and filling it with your work. You can find the Shop page by clicking on the Sell link in the menu bar at the top of any page. The process to create a Shop is simple, just enter your name, email address, and password as well as an optional shop name and description. Once you’re done, click Create Your Etsy Shop and you’ll be taken to your new shop!
2) Choose Your Products
Etsy is a great place to sell handmade crafts or vintage items that you don’t want to part with, but it can be difficult to get your products noticed by buyers. So before you list an item on the site, make sure you have a good idea of what your goals are and do some research on the best way to market your product. If you’re looking for more exposure for your work, for example, consider using keywords when naming each listing in order to help search engines find them. But if you just want to earn money as quickly as possible, set up listings in specific categories with high buyer traffic like Shop Now or Just In. You’ll also need to provide clear photos so customers know exactly what they’re getting.
3) Optimize Your Listings
When you list an item on Etsy, it’s important to make sure that your photo is clear and has enough detail so that potential buyers can feel confident in their purchase. For example, if you are selling a product with a logo on it, be sure the logo is visible so that shoppers know what they are getting. Be sure to include all necessary details in the listing such as size, color, and condition. Include any additional information like new with tags or never worn if applicable. Use keywords for products by including relevant terms in the title and body of the listing.
